Kediri’s Dhoho Night Carnival 2026 Marks 147‑Year City Anniversary

On Sunday, 26 July 2026, Kediri celebrated its 147th anniversary with the Dhoho Night Carnival 2026. The night‑time parade began at the city hall, moved along Jalan Dhoho, and finished at Taman Brantas, while Mayor Vinanda Prameswati walked the route greeting residents. President’s tourism envoy Zita Anjani attended, praised the event’s social‑media promotion and cultural creativity, and said, "Malam ini saya bahagia sekali bisa menyaksikan Dhoho Night Carnival 2026. Promosi di sosial medianya juga sangat baik dan terobati hari ini ketika datang antusiasme masyarakat luar biasa." She wore a traditional Kediri ikat‑woven outfit and highlighted the carnival’s role in promoting culture‑based tourism and environmental care.

PT Gudang Garam Tbk joined the festivities with a “Kerajaan Bunga Anggrek” (Orchid Kingdom) display, drawing on the historic Kaḍiri kingdom, the Kidung Harsawijaya epic, and local symbols such as Mount Kelud and the Brantas River. The evening concluded with a drone show and fireworks, underscoring the city’s blend of heritage and modern creativity.
