Keele University law degree receives Greek accreditation

Keele University’s Athens campus, the first branch of a public UK university to obtain a non‑state university licence in Greece in 2025, has secured certification for its undergraduate law programme from the Hellenic Authority for Higher Education (EΘΑΑΕ). The four‑year programme will teach Greek private, public and criminal law alongside European, international and English law, and incorporates innovative elements such as a virtual courtroom and training in digital justice, artificial intelligence and commercial law.

Dean Aristotelis Charalambakis said the approval marks “the moment we have been waiting for” and that the school is ready to welcome a new generation of lawyers. The law school will be housed at the new campus on Ippokratis 33 in Athens and will admit its first students in October 2026. An interdisciplinary undergraduate track in investigative criminology, led by Dr Pinelopi Minaiti, is also part of the offering.
