Keeley Electronics announces Compressor Plus Germanium
Keeley Electronics has announced the Compressor Plus Germanium to mark the 25th anniversary of Robert Keeley’s first compressor. The new pedal builds upon the original design by incorporating a germanium stage to serve as a buffer and tone-shaping component.
The germanium transistor is intended to provide a warmer, more responsive character by softening high frequencies and adding sustain without the typical noise or loss of headroom associated with germanium circuits. The pedal features Level, Blend, Comp, and Tone controls, along with a switch to adjust recovery speed for single coil or humbucker pickups. The device is handmade in Oklahoma City, USA, and is expected to be available for shipping in early October 2026.
