Keelung hosts cultural heritage showcase and multicultural concert

Keelung City held a series of cultural events on August 23 to promote local heritage and social cohesion. The “Retro Rock, Art Song Keelung” event took place at Guomen Square, showcasing the city's intangible cultural heritage through traditional performing arts. The showcase featured six groups performing various styles, including Beiguan and traditional percussion, to highlight the depth of Taiwan's traditional musical craftsmanship.

Simultaneously, the city hosted a multicultural charity concert in collaboration with the Wang Wang Cultural and Educational Foundation and China Times. The concert aimed to foster understanding among diverse groups, including Hakka and new immigrant communities. Keelung Mayor Hsieh Kuo-liang emphasized the importance of building a friendly and inclusive city by promoting mutual respect and warmth between citizens through cultural exchange.
