Keelung hosts Regional Revitalization Awards as Changhua Christian Hospital wins innovation prizes

The 6th Regional Revitalization Awards were held in Keelung, bringing together 34 teams from Taiwan, Japan, and Malaysia to share local development achievements. The event, organized by the Keelung City Government, the Taiwan Regional Revitalization Alliance, and Smile Taiwan, aimed to foster cross-regional exchange. Key winners included Heping Island Geopark, which received the Regional Revitalization Award for its sustainable tourism practices, and Elly Nose, which won the ‘See Keelung Award’ for its work in translating local port culture into sensory experiences.

In separate news, Changhua Christian Hospital achieved significant success at the 2026 Taiwan Innovation Technology Expo. Competing against international teams from Japan, Poland, and Singapore, the hospital’s research teams secured two gold, two silver, and one bronze award. The winning innovations focus on clinical needs, including a light-transmitting hip joint harness for newborns, a protective restraint device for patient safety, and AI-driven systems for monitoring lung obstruction and hand hygiene efficiency.
