Keelung International Marine Eagle Carnival to debut October 3

The 16th Keelung International Marine Eagle Carnival is scheduled to begin on October 3. Recognized as a national-level event by the Taiwan Tourism Administration, this year’s celebration coincides with the Keelung 400 anniversary.

Under the theme of “diversity and inclusion,” the festival highlights Keelung’s identity as a multicultural port city. The event features parade floats created by artists from France, Canada, and Puerto Rico, who are utilizing collected marine waste as creative materials to promote ocean sustainability and conservation.

Key highlights include the introduction of a new character, “Eagle ONE,” completing the Eagle family alongside “Eagle Station Master” and “Eagle JOY.” The festivities will include the “CHILL Sea Market” at Guomen Square, featuring local food and interactive experiences, followed by a two-hour “Eagle Wave Party” with live musical performances. Local authorities have announced traffic controls and road closures around the parade route between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM on the day of the event.
