Kees Smit attracts interest from multiple Premier League clubs

Scouts from several Premier League clubs, including Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham, Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace, and Brighton, were in attendance to watch AZ Alkmaar midfielder Kees Smit during a match against Sunderland.

The 20-year-old Dutch midfielder, who has emerged as a highly-rated talent in Europe, started the match at the Stadium of Light despite AZ Alkmaar's 1-0 defeat. Smit is reportedly valued at approximately £51.5m (€60m).

Liverpool has been identified as a long-term admirer of the player. While Smit's recent form has been strong, contributing to AZ Alkmaar's position in the Eredivisie, he was notably absent from the Netherlands squad for the recent World Cup.
