Kefalonia and Thessaly host successful cultural festivals

On June 27, the first day of the Culture and Gastronomy Festival in Kaminárata, Kefalonia, drew large crowds. The event featured exhibitions of local producers, traditional folk music and dance performed by school choirs and cultural societies, and a showcase of Kephalonia’s weaving heritage. Organisers highlighted support from the Ionian Islands Region, local municipalities and volunteers.

The same day, the municipality of Tempi in Thessaly held two parallel cultural programmes. In Rapsani, the Women’s Cultural Association staged a music‑dance show titled “Steps of Culture” in the Wine and Olive Museum courtyard, attended by the deputy mayor and other officials. In Ossa, the 15th Ossa Festival attracted visitors with performances by local dance groups and a troupe from the MANASIS School of Greek Dance and Culture, Melbourne, emphasizing diaspora ties. Municipal leaders praised the events for preserving Greek tradition and fostering community spirit.
