Kefalonia coach Parisis Kouloumpis faces prosecution for crimes against minors

Greek authorities have released the identity of Parisis Kouloumpis, a 50-year-old athletics coach from Kefalonia, following his arrest on July 3, 2026, in Argostoli. The disclosure was ordered by the Prosecutor of First Instance of Kefalonia and ratified by the Prosecutor of Appeals of Patras to assist in the investigation and detection of further crimes.

Kouloumpis faces multiple criminal charges, including the repeated rape of a minor (both completed and attempted) and the repeated abuse of minors, specifically involving a victim over the age of 14. The prosecution noted the aggravating circumstance that the suspect was a coach providing lessons to the minors.

Additionally, he is charged with the repeated production, acquisition, and possession of child pornography via information systems. The investigation was reportedly initiated after a mother contacted 'The Smile of the Child' organization in December 2025 to report sexual harassment and physical violence used by the coach during training sessions. Authorities are calling on citizens with any relevant information to contact the Argostoli Crime Investigation Department.
