Kehl and Wuppertal see record participation in local running events
The 10th Rheinuferlauf in Kehl attracted a record 657 participants across all age groups, surpassing the organizer's target of 500. German runner Lucas Hermann set a new course record of 32:44 in the 10‑km race, while Hannah Stöckel won the women's division. Runners from France, Portugal, Spain, Canada and Italy also took part, and a new corporate run saw the city administration field the most athletes.
In Wuppertal, the 14th edition of the Schwebebahnlauf drew more than 7,000 runners. Tim Wagner repeated his 5‑km victory, and Ayoub Mortaji and Fouzi Mansouri Arbaoui shared the 10‑km men's win in 35:19. Local favourite Katharina Urbainczyk improved her 10‑km time to 39:04 to claim the women's title again. A half‑marathon was also contested, with Michele Andre Krüger taking gold.
