Keighley six-bedroom house up for auction amid demolition notice

A six-bedroom detached house in Keighley is scheduled for auction on October 14 with a guide price of £200,000. Despite its size and description as “extensive and versatile accommodation,” the property is subject to an active enforcement notice from Bradford Council.

The notice, issued in January 2021, requires the demolition of significant portions of the building. Council officers determined that the walls and roof were constructed higher than approved plans allowed, resulting in a structure that is “higher, bulkier and unduly dominant” within its street setting. Although previous applications for extensions were granted, the current height of the roof and additional storey were never authorized.
