Keigo Higashino’s final Galileo novel sets record sales

Keigo Higashino’s final work in the Galileo series, ‘Eien no Kioku’ (Eternal Memory), has achieved record-breaking sales. According to Oricon, the novel recorded 178,000 copies in its first week, marking the highest first-week sales in the author’s career and surpassing previous records held by other major authors.

The story serves as a conclusion to the long-running series, involving characters Manabu Yukawa, Shuppei Kusanagi, and Kaoru Utsumi. The plot centers on a mystery involving an attack on Utsumi and a series of clues that connect past cases and unresolved mysteries from the series' history.

In addition to Higashino’s success, recent literary rankings from Tohan show other notable titles, including ‘In the Mega Church’ by Ryo Asai at number two and ‘Madogu-shi Dahlia wa Utsumukanai’ by Koya Amagi at number three.
