Keiko Fujimori strengthens Peru-US security and investment ties
Peruvian President Keiko Fujimori has highlighted the strengthening of security and investment ties between Peru and the United States. Following her participation in the 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York, Fujimori emphasized Peru's incorporation into the ‘Escudo de las Américas’ (Shield of the Americas) initiative.
During her engagement with U.S. President Donald Trump, Fujimori noted that the alliance aims to combat organized crime, which she described as a threat to American democracies. She stated that the cooperation focuses on targeting both criminal actors and the structures providing them with financial and logistical support. Additionally, the President indicated that the Peruvian Armed Forces will support the National Police in operations against criminal organizations.
Fujimori also expressed that these international meetings serve to promote investment opportunities within Peru and demonstrate the country's offerings to the global community.
