Keiko Fujimori to Lead Inaugural Military Parade in Lima on July 29
Keiko Fujimori assumed the Peruvian presidency on July 28, 2026 and will preside over the inaugural "Gran Parada Militar" scheduled for July 29 on Avenida Brasil in Lima. The traditional ceremony will feature the Army, Navy, Air Force and National Police, with stands, security zones and partial road closures already being set up. The volunteer fire brigade announced it will not take part in the parade.
In a separate meeting, Fujimori invited former anti‑terrorism combatants represented by the Asociación Nacional de Defensores de la Democracia (Asonaded) to join the civic‑military parade, acknowledging their role in the country’s fight against terrorism. The ex‑combatants expressed support for the new president and confirmed their planned participation.
