Keio Bus Group to expand cashless payments to all routes

Keio Dentetsu Bus and Keio Bus have announced plans to expand their cashless payment demonstration to all route bus areas, excluding some community buses, starting January 16, 2027. This initiative follows a pilot program launched in fiscal year 2025 aimed at achieving a fully cashless bus system.

The companies intend to phase out cash handling by November 2027. The move is part of a broader effort to modernize transit operations and reduce the costs associated with managing physical currency.
