Keio Corporation offers train driving experience via Suginami City tax program
Keio Corporation and Suginami City have announced a new experiential hometown tax donation (furusato nozei) program. On October 31, 2026, the program will offer a specialized tour at the Fujimigaoka Depot for parents and children.
Participants, consisting of one child (4th grade elementary to 3rd grade junior high) and one adult guardian, will be able to operate an Inokashira Line 1000 series train under the supervision of an active driver. The driving experience covers a special 80-meter course within the depot, with approximately seven runs per pair. The tour also includes hands-on experience with onboard announcement systems and a guided inspection of the depot's pit area.
Additionally, participants will engage in vehicle inspection training, such as hammer testing and brake system operations, led by professional inspectors. The program is limited to six pairs (12 people total) with a donation amount of 120,000 yen per pair. Applications are open from September 30 to October 14, 2026.
