Keçiören Municipality launches addiction awareness campaign

The Addiction Counseling and Guidance Center (BADAM), operating under the Keçiören Municipality Health Affairs Directorate, has launched a field campaign to combat addiction and increase public awareness. The initiative focuses on prevention, early intervention, and directing individuals in need to professional support mechanisms.

As part of the outreach, teams visited various municipal facilities, including the Keçiören Art and Vocational Training Courses (KEÇMEK), Education Support Centers (KEDEM), community centers, and libraries. During these visits, staff provided information on BADAM’s counseling services and distributed informative brochures to citizens and employees.

Additionally, the campaign extended to the healthcare sector, with visits to pharmacies near the Keçiören Training and Research Hospital. Pharmacists were briefed on BADAM’s activities to help ensure that individuals at risk or those affected by addiction are effectively guided toward appropriate professional assistance.
