Keisean Nixon's Hamstring Keeps Him Out of Packers Opening Practice

Green Bay Packers cornerback Keisean Nixon missed the team's first practice of training camp after waking with tightness in his hamstring. He said the injury, not a contract dispute, kept him off the field and that the team recommended a scan before he returned.

Nixon declined to discuss contract matters, stating that his agent Tory Dandy and general manager Brian Gutekunst are handling any negotiations. He is entering the final year of a three‑year, $18 million deal that pays him a $4.3 million base salary and a $6 million annual average, ranking him 41st among NFL cornerbacks. Nixon emphasized his focus on playing and improving after moving from special‑teams and nickel roles to the No. 1 cornerback position.
