Keisha Lance Bottoms campaigns for Georgia governorship

Democratic gubernatorial candidate Keisha Lance Bottoms is campaigning across Georgia ahead of the November midterm elections. During a recent visit to Thomas County, Bottoms met with local residents and Congressman Sanford Bishop to discuss her plans for supporting rural communities and the state's agricultural sector.

Bishop emphasized the economic importance of agriculture to Georgia, noting the challenges farmers face due to rising costs and decreasing federal support. He advocated for a governor who understands the needs of both rural and urban areas.

Bottoms, the former mayor of Atlanta and a former White House advisor, faces a campaign against Republican nominee Rick Jackson. While Bottoms focuses on policy, the campaign has seen significant rhetoric regarding her tenure as mayor, with Republican opponents criticizing her record on crime. Bottoms has dismissed these characterizations, highlighting her efforts to work with law enforcement during periods of civil unrest.
