Keita Machida and Hyun-ri announce birth of first child

Japanese actor Keita Machida and Korean-Japanese actress Hyun-ri have announced the birth of their first child. The couple, who married in December 2022, shared the news through a joint statement released by their respective management agencies.

In their statement, the couple expressed that the arrival of their child brings a sense of increased responsibility. They noted, “Our first child has been born, and the addition of an irreplaceable presence makes us feel a greater sense of responsibility.” They also committed to continuing their professional work as actors while growing in their new roles as parents.

Machida and Hyun-ri first met in 2017 while working on the film ‘The Terminal Destination’. Hyun-ri has recently been active in international productions, including the Disney+ series ‘A Shop for Killers’ (Season 2), while Machida has gained significant popularity through works such as ‘Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard’.
