Keith David announces new film and Rick and Morty spin‑off

Veteran actor Keith David, 70, discussed his latest projects in a recent interview. He has just finished filming the dark comedy *My Friend Jim* opposite Rob Lowe and is set to lead the upcoming *President Curtis* – a spin‑off of the animated series *Rick and Morty* in which he will portray the titular U.S. president. The role marks the first time David will be the sole lead of a *Rick and Morty*‑related production.

David also reflected on his five‑decade career, which spans more than 400 credits across film, television, video games and animation. He emphasized his long‑standing commitment to portraying Black characters as fully realised human beings, avoiding simplistic stereotypes. Recent appearances include the live‑action series *The Lowdown* and the comedy *The Hawk*, and he appeared at his Hollywood Walk of Fame induction ceremony.
