Keith Flint, frontman of The Prodigy, died by suicide

Keith Flint, the frontman of the influential electronic group The Prodigy, died by suicide in March 2019. He was found unconscious on the grounds of his estate near Dunmow, Essex, with a preliminary autopsy identifying hanging as the cause of death.

Flint, who was born in Redbridge, originally joined the band as a dancer before transitioning to lead vocals. He became a central figure in the 1990s rave culture, most notably through the hit song ‘Firestarter’, which helped propel the group to global stardom. His career included several chart-topping albums such as ‘Music For The Jilted Generation’ and ‘The Fat Of The Land’.

Beyond his musical achievements, Flint’s life was marked by personal challenges, including a difficult childhood and dyslexia. He was a prominent figure in the electronic music scene, known for his high-energy stage presence and distinctive image.
