Keith Haring documentary ‘Tuttomondo’ to premiere at Lucca Film Festival

The documentary ‘Tuttomondo’ will receive its world premiere at the Lucca Film Festival on October 1. The film captures the American pop artist Keith Haring during the four days in June 1989 when he created his final major permanent public work, the ‘Tuttomondo’ mural, on the exterior wall of the Sant’Antonio Abate church in Pisa, Italy.

Created by Pisan filmmakers Andrea De Gioia, Roberto Soldani, and Roberto Burchielli, the documentary follows Haring as he worked for free, engaging with local citizens and students. This new full version includes previously unseen content: 70 drawings and digital animations recovered from the artist's archives in 2023. These materials demonstrate Haring’s pioneering interest in new technologies and digital languages during the final months of his life.

The screening follows a private 2025 projection in New York at The Center. The event in Italy will include a round table discussion regarding the intersection of art and the mural's historical impact on the city.
