Keith Richards covers ‘Bright Lights, Big City’ for Grand Theft Auto VI

Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards has released a cover of the blues classic ‘Bright Lights, Big City’ for the upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album. Originally recorded by Jimmy Reed in 1961, Richards’ rendition features a minimalist arrangement driven by drums and guitar, intended to capture the electric energy of the game’s setting, Vice City and Leonida.

The soundtrack, which is scheduled for release on November 19, will feature 34 songs. Richards is joined by a diverse lineup of artists including Morgan Wallen, Rauw Alejandro, Yung Lean, and Travis Scott. Richards has expressed long-standing admiration for Reed, describing the original blues legend as a ‘genius’ with a unique sound.
