Keith Richards joins Grand Theft Auto VI soundtrack

Keith Richards has released a studio version of the blues classic ‘Bright Lights, Big City’ as part of the official soundtrack for the upcoming video game Grand Theft Auto VI. The track, recorded exclusively for ‘Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album’, features a minimalist production style centered on a traditional blues riff and Richards’ distinctive vocals.

The recording serves as a tribute to Jimmy Reed, the 1961 original artist and Chicago blues legend. Richards has long expressed admiration for Reed, describing him as a ‘genius’ with a unique sound that stood out among his contemporaries. Richards noted that finding a distinct musical identity is a mark of true brilliance, a quality he attributes to Reed.

The soundtrack for the Rockstar Games title is expected to feature a diverse collection of 34 songs. Other confirmed artists for the album include Morgan Wallen, Rauw Alejandro, Travis Scott, and Yung Lean.
