Keito Nakamura finds success with Lyon and Japan national team

Keito Nakamura, the Japanese international winger playing for Olympique Lyonnais, has expressed relief at returning to a top-five European league following a stint in France's Ligue 2 with Stade de Reims. Nakamura noted that playing in the second division had been detrimental to his standing with the Japanese national team, as many of his international teammates compete at higher levels.

Nakamura has made a strong start with Lyon, scoring in the Europa League against Anderlecht. He also recently played a decisive role for Japan in a 3-1 victory over Uruguay. During his 83 minutes on the pitch, he provided a key assist to Kuo Matsuki, marking his 30th appearance for the national team.
