Ritsu Doan rejects Saudi transfer to stay with Eintracht Frankfurt
Japanese midfielder Ritsu Doan has decided to remain with Eintracht Frankfurt after a highly anticipated transfer to Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad collapsed at the final stage.
Reports from German media outlets, including Kicker and Frankfurter Rundschau, indicate that while clubs had reached an agreement on a transfer fee of approximately 17 million euros (3.1 billion yen) and a salary of 9 million euros, Doan personally rejected the move. The decision was reportedly based on personal reasons and a desire to continue playing in Europe.
Although Frankfurt had intended to use the sale to bolster their finances, the sudden collapse of the deal leaves the club in a difficult position regarding their summer budget. Some reports suggest that while Doan is staying for now, there remains a possibility of a late move to the English Premier League before the transfer window closes.
