Kei’Trel Clark fined $6,651 by NFL for religious eyeblack message
Arizona Cardinals cornerback Kei’Trel Clark has been fined $6,651 by the NFL for displaying an unapproved personal message on his eyeblack. During a Week 1 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers on September 13, Clark wrote “Glory Be 2 God” on his eyeblack.
The league determined the action violated the NFL Uniform and Equipment Rules, which prohibit players from wearing or conveying personal messages—whether in writing or illustration—unless they have received advance approval from the league office. The NFL stated that the violation applied while the player was visible to the stadium and television audiences.
Clark, 25, shared the disciplinary notice on social media, expressing a desire for answers regarding the punishment. However, he also stated that he has no regrets about the message, noting, “I'll always give God the Glory and out loud.” This incident follows a previous fine Clark received last year for wearing an unapproved black towel.
