Kejaksaan Agung investigates Rp5 billion return by Ferry Boboho

The Indonesian Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) has confirmed that Ferry Yanto Hongkiriwang, also known as Ferry Boboho, returned Rp5 billion in August 2026. This amount is part of a total Rp40 billion previously handed over by property tycoon Tan Kian. The investigation into these funds is linked to a case involving former Jampidsus official Febrie Adriansyah, where Ferry Boboho is identified as a key witness.

In a separate but related context regarding the institution's performance, legal expert Prof. Suparji Ahmad noted the Attorney General's success in handling major economic corruption cases. This includes the seizure of over Rp1 trillion and US$166,000 from PT PSMI related to alleged corruption in forest area utilization at PT Inhutani V Lampung. Experts suggest these actions demonstrate a strategic shift toward 'follow the money' and 'follow the asset' methodologies in anti-corruption efforts, even as the institution navigates internal legal challenges.
