KEK shuts down Unit A4 due to technical irregularities

The Kosovo Energy Corporation (KEK) has announced a controlled shutdown of Unit A4 following the detection of technical irregularities. The shutdown occurred on August 11, 2026, at 00:00, as a preventive measure to ensure technical safety and allow for equipment inspections and necessary interventions. Professional teams are currently assessing the technical status to identify the cause and resolve the issue. Unit A4 will return to operation once safety conditions are confirmed.

Separately, the Kosovo Electricity Distribution Company (KEDS) has scheduled power outages for Wednesday, August 12, 2026, to facilitate system security works and investment projects. These planned interruptions will affect various localities across several regions, including parts of Prishtina and surrounding areas, due to preventive maintenance and cable energization projects.
