Kelani Jordan discusses NXT Women’s Championship status

Kelani Jordan, the current WWE NXT Women’s Champion, has addressed frustrations regarding her career trajectory and how she was perceived within the company. In a recent interview with The Wrestling Classic, Jordan noted that her previous reputation as a likable underdog may have hindered her credibility as a serious championship threat.

Despite holding titles such as the inaugural NXT Women’s North American Championship and the TNA Knockouts Championship, Jordan expressed that she felt overlooked for opportunities. She stated that her former “rainbows and butterflies” persona led others to view her as a cute underdog rather than a legitimate competitor, prompting a shift in her approach to being taken seriously.

As Jordan continues her reign, several competitors are positioned as potential challengers for the title, including Wren Sinclair, who won a number one contender’s battle royal, as well as ZARIA, Izzi Dame, and Kali Armstrong.
