Kelantan boy recovers after attack by stray dogs

An eight-year-old boy, Azuar Firdaus Zuraiman, is recovering after being attacked by a pack of five stray dogs while playing at Pantai Kemasin in Bachok. The boy sustained deep wounds to his head and neck, requiring a five-hour surgery at Hospital Raja Perempuan Zainab II (HRPZII) to clean the wounds and administer stitches.

Following the surgery, the victim must undergo a three-week course of rabies vaccinations and antibiotics. While the child initially experienced significant trauma and remained silent for two days, his mother, Rosnani Mat Salleh, reported that he has begun to communicate and recount the incident.

Officials from the Kelantan State Education Department have visited the boy in the hospital to offer support. The victim's mother has called on local authorities to take immediate action regarding the stray dog population in the area to prevent similar incidents from occurring.
