Kelantan elderly man receives new shelter after being kept in chains

A temporary shelter has been completed for an elderly man known as Pak Nor in Pasir Puteh, Kelantan, following reports that he had been chained in a dilapidated hut by his sister. The sister, a single mother, reportedly used the restraints to ensure his safety due to a lack of other options.

Social activist Mohamad Azhan Mohamed Adnan, known as Abbe Hae, spearheaded the effort to secure better living conditions. A temporary hut was built within two weeks through the cooperation of various authorities. Additionally, the family's original home is currently 80% repaired and will include a dedicated room for Pak Nor. The sister is also receiving assistance from the Social Welfare Department (JKM) to cover living expenses.

Abbe Hae, founder of Pertubuhan Jejak Jalanan, emphasizes a holistic approach to charity, aiming to resolve issues from root to branch rather than providing one-off aid. His organization handles cases reported via social media and field observations, coordinating with government agencies to ensure long-term solutions for those in need.
