Kelly Clarkson advocates for separate music charts for AI artists
Singer Kelly Clarkson expressed her support for artificial intelligence in music while advocating for a distinction between human and AI-generated performers. During an appearance on the ‘Las Culturistas’ podcast, Clarkson stated that she is artistically interested in the technology and believes it can offer creative opportunities for those who might otherwise lack certain abilities.
However, Clarkson argued against AI artists competing directly with humans on music charts. She proposed that the industry should implement separate charts for AI-generated music to avoid unfair competition, comparing the situation to robots competing against humans in the Olympics.
Her comments follow recent industry developments, such as the AI-powered R&B act Xania Monet becoming the first known AI artist to enter a Billboard radio chart.
