Kelly Osbourne defends Ozzy Osbourne's legacy against Dee Snider

Kelly Osbourne has publicly criticized Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider following his comments regarding the songwriting contributions of her late father, Ozzy Osbourne. The dispute began on X, where Snider suggested that Ozzy “always” had bass players write his lyrics, specifically naming Bob Daisley and Lemmy Kilmister as frequent contributors. Snider also claimed to have knowledge of “the truth behind the scenes” and suggested that Sharon Osbourne does not like to share credit.

In response, Kelly Osbourne used Instagram Stories to defend her father’s legacy, calling Snider’s remarks “spectacularly classless.” She argued that Snider was attempting to diminish Ozzy’s achievements as a musician, songwriter, and bandleader. Kelly further critiqued Snider’s own career longevity, noting that while Ozzy’s career spanned nearly six decades, Snider’s mainstream success was more limited.

Snider later clarified his position on X, stating he has “nothing but love for Ozzy” and that the heavy metal icon “changed my life.” The controversy reignites long-standing discussions regarding the songwriting credits of Ozzy Osbourne’s early solo albums and his work with Black Sabbath.
