Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos delay new dog adoption due to health issue

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos have announced that the homecoming of their newly adopted dog, Javi, has been delayed due to health concerns. The couple, hosts of ‘Live with Kelly and Mark’, recently shared that the puppy is undergoing treatment for a parasite.

The adoption follows the loss of their previous dog, Chewie, in February 2025. The new dog, a Shih Tzu originally named Lucas, was introduced during the show’s ‘Adopt a Dog Week’ through the rescue organization Pet ResQ Inc. Once his medical treatment is complete, Javi will join the couple in New York alongside their existing dog, Lena.
