Kelly Ripa shares details on recovery from gum graft surgery

Television host Kelly Ripa has shared details regarding her recent recovery from gum graft surgery. The 55-year-old host explained that the procedure was necessary to treat gum recession caused by over-brushing her teeth.

Ripa noted that the surgery involved transferring tissue from the roof of her mouth to the affected areas. She described the recovery process as difficult, mentioning that she was prohibited from speaking for ten days following the operation.

Due to the procedure, Ripa has been absent from her morning show, ‘Live with Kelly and Mark’, since late July. She is expected to return to the program after Labor Day for the premiere of its 39th season. In a recent video update shared via her ‘Let’s Talk Off Camera’ podcast, Ripa provided an unfiltered update to fans while recovering at home.
