Kelly Ripa undergoes gum surgery following dental recession

Talk show host Kelly Ripa revealed that she recently underwent gum surgery to treat recession, which required her to take a temporary leave from ‘Live with Kelly and Mark’.

Speaking on her ‘Let’s Talk Off Camera’ podcast with Michelle Buteau, Ripa explained that the issue was caused by her habit of brushing her teeth too aggressively. Although she had been advised to undergo the procedure five years ago, she delayed it until medical professionals informed her it could no longer be postponed.

The surgical procedure involves grafting tissue from the roof of the mouth to the affected gum areas. As part of the recovery process, Ripa was prohibited from speaking for ten days, necessitating the use of guest hosts during her absence.
