Kelompok Srikandi Tanjung launches fish processing business in Seruyan
Thirty-one women from the Kelompok Srikandi Tanjung in Tanjung Rangas Village, Seruyan Regency, have successfully transitioned local fishery resources into value-added products following an entrepreneurship training program. Organized by PT Sarana Titian Permata (STP), a part of the Wilmar Group, through its economic pillar CSR program, the training took place from July 24 to 27, 2026.
Participants received mentoring from the UMKM Berkat Uhat Kayu Palangkaraya team, covering fish processing, packaging, and marketing. The group developed 12 types of products using local fish species such as lais, toman, sanggang, and haruan, including items like fish floss, crackers, nuggets, and marinated fish. Following the training, the group has already received 140 orders and saw high demand during a local MSME exhibition.
To support long-term sustainability, PT STP provided various infrastructure and equipment, including a fish drying house, a 300-liter freezer box, a vacuum sealer, and other processing tools. The company is also facilitating legal requirements, including business legality and product certifications such as PIRT and Halal, to enable wider market access.
