Kelowna International Airport launches crime reporting initiative
Central Okanagan Crime Stoppers and Kelowna International Airport (YLW) have launched a public awareness partnership titled “Crime doesn’t fly here.” The initiative uses signage throughout the airport to encourage residents and travelers to report crime and suspicious activity.
Bruce Baron, President of Central Okanagan Crime Stoppers, stated that the partnership aims to reach thousands of daily travelers to promote community safety through anonymous reporting. Neil Drachenberg, YLW Senior Manager of Safety and Security, noted that while criminal acts should be reported to police, suspicious activity impacting airport safety can be directed to the airport’s security team.
