Kelowna RCMP investigating Uber driver confrontation
The Kelowna RCMP is investigating a motor vehicle incident involving an Uber driver and two pedestrians that occurred in downtown Kelowna on the night of Saturday, August 22.
Uber driver Benton Calder shared social media footage of the encounter, which shows a woman chasing his Tesla and punching the vehicle before falling. The video also depicts a man running up to the car, kicking it, and grabbing onto the passenger-side door. As the vehicle moved onto Water Street, the man was pulled several yards before letting go and falling to the road.
Cpl. Steven Lang of the Kelowna RCMP stated that investigators are reviewing all available evidence, including witness statements and video recordings, to determine the full circumstances of the interaction. Police noted that the available footage lacks audio and may not represent the entire event.
