Kelowna Rockets name Curtis Hamilton as new general manager
The Kelowna Rockets have announced a leadership transition for the upcoming 2026-27 season. Bruce Hamilton is stepping down as general manager after 35 years in the role, which included the franchise's time in Tacoma.
Curtis Hamilton, Bruce's son, will succeed him as general manager. Curtis previously served as an assistant coach during the 2020-21 season and has worked in management roles under his father. He will oversee drafting, scouting, trades, and player signings.
Bruce Hamilton will remain with the organization as president and governor. He will also continue his role as the WHL chairman of the board. WHL Commissioner Dan Near recognized Bruce as one of the league's most accomplished executives, noting his leadership in securing four WHL championships and a Memorial Cup.
