Actor Kelsey Grammer told the Katie Miller Podcast that his decades‑long conservative political stance might have caused him to be overlooked for acting jobs and award recognition in Hollywood. He said he cannot be certain but suspects that casting directors and awards voters sometimes consider politics alongside performance.

Grammer argued that casting and honors should be based purely on talent, describing politics as an "overlay" that should not influence decisions. He noted that a few other industry professionals share his views but keep them private, adding, "There’s several of us in the closet."

He also lamented a broader decline in modern sitcom quality, claiming recent shows have lost the trust of audiences.
