Kelvin Nkrumah signs for FC Porto after Ghana U‑20 exit

Ghanaian defender Kelvin Nkrumah, captain of the Black Satellites U‑20 side, has completed a transfer to Portuguese giants FC Porto. The paperwork was finalised following Ghana’s exit from the WAFU B U‑20 Championship, and Nkrumah is expected to travel to Portugal to begin the next phase of his career. FC Porto’s acquisition reflects the club’s ongoing confidence in emerging African talent and offers the 18‑year‑old a platform to develop further and potentially break into the senior Black Stars squad.

Earlier reports linked Porto with Nkrumah while he was a Medeama SC player. At Medeama he logged 57 Premier League appearances, scoring three goals and providing two assists, and was part of the side that won the Ghanaian championship in the 2025‑26 season. His market value is estimated at €100,000. The move is seen as a major milestone for the young Ghanaian and adds to the growing list of Ghanaian prospects moving to Europe.
