Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu attends Yörük cultural event in Mersin

Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, Chairman of the Republican People's Party (CHP), attended the 2nd Kardeş Göçerler Yörük Event in the Toroslar district of Mersin. Organized by Toroslar Municipality, the event featured a symbolic Yörük migration march involving camels and traditional attire.

During his speech, Kılıçdaroğlu emphasized the importance of Yörük culture, describing it as a symbol of freedom, hard work, and solidarity. He noted his own Yörük roots and pledged that the CHP would work to provide essential services—such as education, electricity, and water—to Yörük communities regardless of their location. He also called for national unity against internal and external threats.

Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Vahap Seçer also participated, expressing pride in the Yörük people and highlighting their contribution to the region. Local officials and various civil society representatives attended the two-day cultural event, which included folk dances and local product exhibitions.
