Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu addresses early elections and economic issues in Gaziantep

Former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu visited Gaziantep, where he addressed several key political and economic issues. Regarding the possibility of early elections, Kılıçdaroğlu stated that the CHP would not object to a proposal for early elections, suggesting that Turkey should move toward a more democratic structure as soon as possible. He expressed doubt that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan would run for re-election under the current political framework.

On economic matters, Kılıçdaroğlu highlighted the struggles of small business owners (esnaf), workers, farmers, and students. He proposed the establishment of a dedicated Ministry of Tradesmen to support small businesses facing competition from large retail chains. He also emphasized the need for political accountability and ethical standards in governance.

Regarding constitutional changes, Kılıçdaroğlu noted that while the CHP has previously proposed a strengthened parliamentary system, they would engage in discussions regarding any new proposals, including potential semi-presidential models, with common sense. Additionally, he announced that the CHP would vote in favor of the Mekke Agreement after reviewing its justifications.
