Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu outlines opposition strategy and potential candidates

Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, leader of the Republican People's Party (CHP), has outlined a political roadmap for the opposition regarding future general elections. Emphasizing the importance of the 50%+1 rule, Kılıçdaroğlu stated that the opposition must either unite behind a single candidate or seek consensus during a second round of voting.

Kılıçdaroğlu positioned the CHP as the locomotive of future alliances, noting that the party could either propose its own candidate or adopt a candidate suggested by alliance partners. He specifically addressed the potential candidacy of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu and Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş.

For İmamoğlu to be proposed as an alliance candidate, Kılıçdaroğlu specified that he must be cleared in his ongoing legal cases, win his diploma-related lawsuit, and choose to remain within the CHP. Similarly, he noted that Mansur Yavaş could be considered a candidate for the alliance provided he continues his membership in the CHP.
