Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu rejects return of former CHP members

Following a court ruling of ‘absolute nullity’ regarding CHP congress processes and delegate structures, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu has regained his status as the legitimate and active Chairman of the Republican People's Party (CHP). The ruling effectively invalidated the decisions and congresses held during Özgür Özel’s leadership.

In the wake of this legal shift, several members of parliament who had resigned from the CHP to join the Yeni Parti are reportedly seeking to return to the main opposition party. However, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu has reportedly rejected requests for meetings with these individuals. Party officials have expressed strong opposition to their return, stating that those who abandoned the party during its most difficult periods must face political consequences. Party leadership emphasized that the CHP is not a ‘waystation’ and that loyalty is required to maintain the party’s stability.
