Kemo Ceesay elected President of Gambia Football Federation

Kemo Ceesay has been elected President of the Gambia Football Federation (GFF), marking the end of Lamin Kaba Bajo’s 12-year tenure. Ceesay secured 41 of the 77 ballots cast, defeating Conel Musa Drammeh and Sadibou Kamasa.

In his new role, Ceesay has pledged to increase transparency by making the federation’s audited financial accounts publicly accessible on the GFF website following approval by the General Assembly. He aims to address speculation regarding international funding and intends to expand the federation’s revenue base beyond its current heavy reliance on FIFA and CAF.

Ceesay’s administration plans to prioritize decentralization, including the establishment of a regional headquarters in Jara Soma to better coordinate community programs. His manifesto also includes increased support for women’s football, grassroots programs, and players with disabilities.
