Kempten garage fire destroys seven vehicles

A massive fire broke out in an underground parking garage of an apartment complex in Kempten, Germany, on Wednesday evening. The blaze resulted in the complete destruction of seven vehicles, including one electric car. The cause of the fire remains unclear.

Emergency services deployed large-scale equipment to prevent smoke from entering the building's stairwells. Due to the heavy smoke, 35 residents were evacuated and provided with care at a nearby school. Dozens of other vehicles were damaged by heat and soot.

The Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW) was called to the scene to assess and secure the structural integrity of the garage. Total property damage is estimated to be at least in the high six-figure range.
